ART OF BOARD UNVEILS BEAUTIFUL REBELLION AT ICFF 2017
Debuts Included Wallpaper, Tile Surfaces and Customization
Art of Board debuted its new digital design customization studio along with several new collections at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) show at Javits Center in New York, NY, May 20-24, 2017 in Booth 1581. Beautiful Rebellion builds on Art of Board’s innovative concept of “street meets modern chic.” All designs are comprised of imagery from reclaimed skateboard wood—taking the subculture to high design like never seen before.
Art of Board’s expansive digital library of high-resolution images of actual reclaimed skateboard decks allows the brand to create completely customized patterns for tile, wallpaper, murals, textiles, canvases, and licensed consumer goods and apparel. Art of Board’s digital design studio puts designers at the helm early in the collaborative process. The company organizes its customization capabilities into six categories of design that can be affected: color and pattern, material and features, size and shape. Products are ordered and printed on demand, in an effort to reduce waste and support sustainable creative business practices. Clients can customize any space into an interaction-based experience that is powerful, relevant and pushes the limits of originality.
Art of Board’s booth featured a curated selection of Beautiful Rebellion. The booth included several new print-ready patterns as well as the brand’s signature reclaimed skateboard wood tiles in a variety of shapes and sizes. Art of Board also showed an evolution of its hard surface story with ceramic wall tiles, porcelain floor tiles, and new this year, a glass tile collection—all of which incorporate Art of Board’s iconic imagery.
